Health Insurance and Funding Your Therapy in Rochester, Kent or Online

Starting your counselling journey is an important investment in your wellbeing. If you have private health insurance, you may be able to use your policy to cover or contribute towards the cost of your sessions for anxiety or relationship counselling at my Rochester practice.

How to use your health insurance

If you plan to use your health insurance policy to fund your counselling sessions, the process usually works as follows:

01
Check Your Policy

Contact your insurance provider prior to our first session to confirm that counselling is covered under your specific plan and check if there are any limits on the number of sessions or excess fees.

02
Obtain Pre-Authorisation

An authorisation code and membership/policy number are required before beginning counselling. They may ask for my provider details or practice name.

03
Provide Details to Me

Once you have your authorisation code and details (such as your policy number and approved number of sessions), please share them with me before our first session so I can set up your billing correctly.

04
Invoicing and Excess

Depending on your arrangements, I will issue an invoice after completion of our session. Please note that if your policy has an annual excess, you will still be responsible covering that amount.

Self-Pay Option

If you prefer not to use insurance, or if you require ongoing support beyond what your insurer covers, I also offer standard self-funding options for individuals and couples.

Couples Counselling
